Toshiba Satellite problem...touchpad burning up?

I have had this notebook pc for a few months now, and today I noticed that the cursor touchpad felt like it was burning up.Yesterday, we had some bad thunderstorms with severe cloud-to-ground lightning. Due to the storms, I had my Toshiba unplugged most of the day and into late afternoon today. So I wouldn't think that my computer had overheated like that.What would cause the touchpad to feel like it is burning up like that?Hope I'm not already in for a computer replacement.
