Default No advanced power management after reinstalling XP on my Sony Vaio?

OK, I performed a fresh install of XP on a new hard drive in my Sony Vaio (model VGN-SZ120p). I downloaded EVERY driver available from the sony support site and installed them but I still have one device in device manager with an exclamation point listed as "Other system device."Also, I have no APM meaning, no standby feature, no battery meter and when I shut down I get "Its now safe to turn of your computer" instead of powering off. I know this thing is ACPI compliant and I'm guessing that "other system device" has somethign to do with ACPI. What the heck am I missing?
