Laptop Water spill, Sony VAIO won't boot?
I spilled some liquid on my laptop about a month ago, I opened it and blow dried everything in there. It stopped working, so I stashed it in the garage. A week ago, I tried it and it worked perfectly (a little slower) for about 20 minutes and froze. So I restarted the computer (holding power button) and its the same problem again. The power LED turns on, the hard drive works (i can hear it spin) but nothing else (including keyboard, lcd, cpu fans,cd drive...) works. After 5 days of not messing with it, I tried it yesterday and it worked for about 2-3 minutes, then everything froze again, I restarted, didn't work. The battery charges (according to the LED).I have tried dissembling everything and removing the RAM modules, CD Drive, Battery...you name it.Could the problem be with the CMOS battery? That's the only component I haven't removed. If so, is there an easy way to disable or discharge it without removing it physically (very inaccessible location on motherboard)?I have tried it without the battery, on AC power...still the same.
