I would personally chose a lenovo tablet, I wish it could had been me who had to make this descition.I dont hink it matters is just a matter of likes. the only problems with macs is if compatibility issues with some programs. Specially if you get in to engineering. In terms of quality I know Lenonvos are really reliable and fast computers. I dont think you should focus too much on specifications a 1800 computer is will perform better than you really need.

Both Apple and Lenovo are perfectly good brands and generally make good products.Pros for Mac:Good product with high customer satisfaction rankingsCan run both Macs and Windows if neededGenerally powerful notebooks with quality componentsSecure O/S with lots of featuresCons for Mac:Usually premium pricedSome software and hardware is not compatible (although this is less common nowadays)Pros for Lenovo:Quality brand and usually quality notebooksStandard Windows O/S with max. compatibilityMay be lower priced, but often is not the lowest priced PC optionCons for Lenovo PC:More risk for viruses and malwareWindows Vista issues (drivers, instability, software compatibility)Neither are bad notebooks, but I would lean towards the Mac. All MS Office apps work smoothly between Macs and PCs (for the most part) and if needed you can run Windows on your Mac. The stability, quality, and security, not to mention the cool factor, go in the Macs favor.
