Default Hewlett Packard Tech Support? SUCKS?

SUCKS!! I used to think they were fast and very nice but now I don't know. I had this guy on the phone and my warranty was out so he didn't have to help me and troubleshoot my issue but he did anyway..he was very generous and walking me through the steps but then my call dropped. So then I had to call back and I got this nasty man that was telling me he couldn't help me because I'm 7 days past my warranty and blah blah and I need to get the extended warranty before he tells me anything and tries to troubleshoot anything for me and so I was like ok well go ahead and ill purchase the extended warranty so you can help me with my problem since your being hostile about it being 7 days after the warranty. Woop De Doo! So then he placed me on hold about 5 times..all the times were more then 10-15 minutes and then came back to the phone letting me know something was wrong and he can't extended the warrant so call back in 48 hours. I was hot! Anyway I think he did it on purpose..the whole thing

Speaking as a former tech support person..Most people on the other end know less than you. Warranty packages usually give you the same crappy service. The best way to get help is to go to your local computer repair store. I DO NOT suggest the big guys, such as circuit city or best buy. Go to the small shops with the nerdy looking guys, and stay away from "down payment" repairs. You can usually get info without paying a cent. Call centers are usually people that read from a "troubleshooting manual" and solve only generic problems. These days many call centers are within the US but at giant nationwide centers full or part timers and temps.Sorry for your trouble, I have heard many of these before. Post your issues here, maybe they will get solved quicker.
