Take the time to memorize what the cards mean before using them. Start off by memorizing the meanings behind the major arcana and then use only them in a simple 7 card reading. then start to incorporate the other cards bit by bit. you can not read the cards if you don't understand what they mean and stand for. Once you know what you are looking at with just a glance, you can then use your psychic powers to deduct what all of the facts before you mean. Then you can figure what is coming in the future and you can decide from intuition what the conflicting meanings from the readings mean. I would suggest buying a deck that has the definitions of the cards included. You should also look online for a more simple spread than the ones that are most common, because they usually use too many cards for beginners. You want to make it easy as possible for the set up and knowledge part of reading the cards, so that you can build your psychic energies and learn to use them without the distraction of trivial details like where to place the cards in the spread.
