Restore files on crashed hard drive?

My computer crashed, and i didn't save the files to a CD or anything. Is there any way to get all the files onto the new hard drive?My computer crashed, the system starts, but it will not start windows. I'm thinking of replacing the hard drive, but is there anyway i can get the files from the crashed hard drive back?
