Default how could i erase my hard drive?

i have so many viruses on my computer right now that i can't use the internet. I'm about to just erase the hard drive to solve the problem since i have nothing on the computer worth keeping anyway. how do i erase it though? i know i need the operating system and another CD right? just tell me what i would need to do to erase it and what happens from there.im talking about my home comp, not the one im on right nowok how do i erase my hard drive. i want some step by step explaination. i have no idea what DBAN is or what it will do so just tell me how to erase my hard drive and how to install windows and the operating system or what ever else there is i need to do

You will have to format the drive which contains the OS installed.But don't do it while you are logged in.It must be performed before booting and make sure OS CD is in the drive.
