I have always thought that Dell made a lower quality laptop. My cousin had a Dell laptop and the motherboard fried after about two months of use. I have an HP pavilion zv5000, they don't sell it anymore, but I got it about a year ago and I got it used! It came with the receipt and it was purchased in 2004. I actually have dropped it once or twice and it still runs perfectly.
