Default Xp or Vista (dell xps m1330)?

My m1330 came with vista but im think about putting xp on it. here are the factors I am considering. Is shutdown/startup faster on xp or vista? Are fps in games greatly increased in xp? Does xp or vista use more power? Please factor in my system specs. Thanks for looking.3gb ram2.2 ghz core 2 duonvidia 8400m gs

With those specs, I doubt Xp will be much faster...or rather, your comp is already so fast, it won't make a noticable difference. But yes, xp is faster than vista, likely from all the extra "features' vista comes with.I hate vista - i had it for a while but i couldnt stand it.one thing that really got me was driver support for various products. It's not all microsoft's fault, but drivers just werent coming out as fast as they should be for the new os. I had a $800 home recording studio doing nothing for a year because i didnt have driver support on vista.
