What is precision in Math?

How could you find precision in Geometry. Ex. the precision of 8 inches. Please help it's for a homework.Thanks!

Precision is basically the number of digits, counting either significant digits, which is all digits besides leading 0s, or counting the number of decimal places.For 8, the precision would be 1in regards to significant digits (which counts every digit) or 0 in regards to decimal placesFor 8.0 the precision is 1 (in regards to decimal places) or 2 (in regards to significant digits)For 8.00 the precision is 2 (in regards to decimal places)
