Question about a dell xps 200?

ok, i have a dell xps 200 with windows xp installed on it, i want to wipe he hard drive and put ubuntu linux 8.04 on it. i know that when you reinstall xp on a dell you have to install drivers, do i have to do anything like that to install linux on it?
