What is the fastest CPU I can put into an Acer Aspire M1610?

I recently bought an Acer Aspire M1610 desktop PC. Although I am happy with it, I would like to put in a faster processor. It currently has a 1.6 ghz dual-core Pentium E2140 processor. Any advice gratefully received!

You can basically put in just about anything that is an Intel processor. Just make sure that you don't buy an AMD processor as it won't work with your motherboard.If you want something that is purely faster you could get another dual-core thats around 2.4ghz. That would be noticeably faster.If you run a lot of programs at once then it would be good to get a quad-core as that would be able to run more programs at once with ease. I have an Intel quad-core Q6600 (which is 2.4ghz) and I'm very pleased.Hope that helps.
