Any solutions to my Macbook lockup problems?

1)For some reason when I tried booting up Runescape earlier today, it froze my whole Macbook. No app switching, no hotcorners, no nothing except moving my mouse and looking at that horrendous spinning color wheel. Maybe it's Java as a collective or just Runescape, I don't know.2)I used to have an inconsistent problem with iTunes locking up as well when I had a battery in my laptop. I would pick songs frequently through my library and then first iTunes would freeze, then my whole computer.3)The laptop I have is assigned to me by my school, so I have very limited permissions.Ms_Xian: When iTunes freezes up? No way it can be a large file... -_-

If you get that beachball of death, usually it means it's a large file or something. Plus who knows what limits your school put on that macbook.
