I have an acer home premium vista laptop. it was working fine until it randomly one day started and then displayed the windows is starting or whatever screen. it stays like this for ages and then just turns black. it makes a sound as if it's trying to get something working. I tried using that system recovery thing but it doesn't come up, just a black screen. I have looked and everybody keeps talking about some initial windows vista disc which I have no clue what it is. please help as I need to get this laptop up and running for preferably free asap.thanks!
