Well that is a good question. Normally, that won't matter. However, some systems are specific. If the ribbon cable that you are using does not say Master or Slave then chances are that it doesn't matter. As long as your jumpers are set correctly on both the master and slave drives it shouldn't matter which ribbon connecter they are plugged into. But again, look at your ribbon cable and if the words are written on the cable then go according to that. And just in case your system is specific and your cable is not marked, the Master drive is almost always the one at the end of the cable. The Slave is almost always the middle connector.
